The Otters and Rivers project being coordinated by the Environment Agency and the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust. Otters are a good indicator of a healthy water environment. If the otters can be encouraged back into the Thames Valley, this will be a huge success for local conservation. The project has focused on four counties which are priority for otter action, Berkshire, Surrey, Bucks & Oxon. Both organisations with the help of local volunteers are working to create and restore riverside habitats for otters. Also educate landowners, fishing clubs etc to explain otter threats and its reintroduction process.
