Amphibians & Reptiles

These behave in a similar to mammals, moving over a relatively small area. In the case of amphibians, such as frogs and toads, they need to return annually to a breeding site in spring, and this may or may not be in a garden. Toads have "ancestral breeding grounds", and it is a matter of chance whether one is near or in your garden. Obviously the chance can be increased by the presence of their favourite habitats, throughout the seasons.
